Catalan Schools engaged with the world

On 12th May the network of Catalan Schools engaged with the world held its meeting in Barcelona. The network was born in 2004 to exchange and brainstorm on the educational experiences lived by schools, administrations, local institutions and Catalan NGOs in the areas of cooperation, solidarity, education for peace, development and human rights.

The network of Catalan Schools engaged with the world replies to the need for mutual and continuous enrichment, and the idea that exchanges of experiences of several actors lead to the improvement of each actor’s experience. The Meeting focused on the rights of the child, peace and the Millennium Development Goals with the following objectives:

  • Create a joint educational proposal in the areas of development, solidarity and cooperation.
  • Introduce different ways to work in different contexts.
  • Share expectations, obstacles, doubts, solutions and realities.
  • Learn what experiences are carried out and how from the different perspectives of schools, NGOs and townships.
