Esyllt T. Lawrence introduced the Wales' reality in Catalonia and the Catalan reality in Wales, and also in the area of English speech. We know her from the RELS' hand.

The magazine RELS dedicates its last monographic to the essayist and Welsh translator (1917-1995), that normalized herself Catalan, and that was a bridge between both cultures. It has also spoken us about Simone Weil, the centenary of her is commemorated in 2009.

The former monographic ones of the magazine, "of ideas and culture" -RELS describes itself like this-, can be consulted online. The next one is dedicated to Joan Sales, author of one of the most important novels placed to the post-civil war period in Catalonia, "Uncertain glory".

Other than this, RELS, which its format changes with the monographic one dedicated to E.T. Lawrence, has contributed to spread in our area the work of Simone Weil, french intellectual, philosopher, jew and christian, and activist -was an international fighter in the Spaniard civil war-, with great influence on the thought of the 20th century (the centenatry of her birth is coomemorated this 2009)

RELS ("Roots") is published by "Roots of Water, Cultural Association", with the support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
