SNV and Empresa Metropolitana Quito Turismo presented their new leaflet called "Tourism: An Opportunity for Development" (in Spanish), thanks to the financial support of the European Union.The goal of this leaflet is to show how tourism can benefit the communities and how the communities can contribute to develop and sustain tourism activities in the region where the initiative "Strengthening family productive units" is being implemented.
The distribution of the leaflet is carried out in conjunction with workshops to raise awareness about the potential of tourism in urban and rural areas of Quito, Ecuador. Local authorities are contributing to the organisation of these workshops promoting a warm and helpful attitude towards the tourist and also encouraging inhabitants to create new touristic products and services.
