Connectors at the Portland meeting

Last night at the BrewStop pub in Portland, Oregon, 22 Connectors met for the first time to start up the Idealist Network in Portland.   As far as we know, it’s the first in-person meeting of a team since we launched last week.  If we’re wrong about that – let us know!

Idealist has an office in Portland and some of our staff attended.  Here’s our report:

Who are the Portland Connectors?  They’re from all over the city, range in age from their 20s to 50s and have varied experiences and backgrounds: they’re teachers, small business owners, scientists and nonprofit professionals.  Curiosity and commitment to the shared values and goals of the Network brought them together.

And what happened?  Connectors introduced themselves, discussed things they weren’t sure about such as: “Can I list my community puppet project on the Team page?” (The team decided “No” because it wasn’t in the spirit of the Team), and ran through a proposed Team meeting agenda that we wanted to test out.  We got some great feedback and are planning to share the agenda with everyone soon.
