The Digital Emotion Grant has been awarded to intellectual disability!

The organisation Best Buddies has won the grant to have a promotional video made about their activities. In addition, we have chosen eight organisations to be awarded with an honourable mention.

HOLABest Buddies is the winning organisation of the Digital Emotion Grant. Although there were many causes which deserved the grant, intellectual disability has stood out above the rest. The iWith.org grants committee has analyzed 85 proposals that have applied for the grant to obtain a creative and promotional video about their organisations. This process has been full of meetings and consultations among all the participants.

The theme of disability and intellectual diversity is currently being defended by a large number of small organisations which have applied for the grant. As a result, iWith.org and Inuit Films have chosen to encourage them to work together on this project, convinced that this step should also help the field to get strength. For this reason, we have additionally selected eight organisations to obtain an honourable mention for the Digital Emotion Grant. The selected organisations are the following:

• Grandalla 
• ASPANIAS Association 
• La Muntanyeta - APPC Tarragona 
• Gil Gayarre Foundation 
• Upacesur Atiende Foundation 
• Estimia Foundation 
• Esclat Association 

As Irene Menéndez says, "intellectual disability operates almost universally in the midst of a tradition of exclusion and segregation, denying people with disabilities essential opportunities for socialization, integration and participation within the community."

Refugio por género #8M

Hoy, Día Internacional de la Mujer, mujeres de todo el mundo paramos, salimos, celebramos, gritamos, nos cabreamos, nos manifestamos para evidenciar la discriminación que supone el hecho de ser mujer.

En Quepo tenemos la suerte de haber construído una entidad donde las mujeres nos sentimos lo que somos, una persona más. Nos sentimos representadas, nos sentimos en las áreas de poder y decisión, igualmente remuneradas, nos sentimos que la conciliación laboral no funciona : ))) (pero igual que los hombres en Quepo!), en fin, que estamos contentas de sentir que todas y todos los que estamos aquí hemos sido capaces de generar un espacio donde ser mujer no supone una discriminación. Con los retos y errores que eso supone para todas y todos. Así es que hoy por aquí, no os mentiré, no hay mucha conversación.

Aunque ayer nos contaron desde CEAR que habían premiado la campaña que hicimos con ellas sobre Refugio y Género y fue una alegría, porque está muy bien que ciertos temas con ciertos enfoques reciban reconocimiento. Al menos, se mueven más las cosas y tienen más difusión, que es basicamente para lo que sirven los premios : )

Pues eso, que si no vistéis el vídeo de la campaña (que mola mucho y que hicimos gracias a la colaboración de un equipo M-A-R-A-V-I-L-L-O-S-O) hoy puede ser un buen momento.

Celebración del día de la Amistad en el Colegio San José Obrero II ( San Ixtán)

El día lunes 13 de Febrero en las intalaciones del Colegio San José Obrero II, ubicado en Sanixtan se llevo a cabo la celebración del día de la "AMISTAD". Se realizo la  actividad iniciando con la celebración eucarística y después una convivencia que consistia en que  los que los alumnos preparaban distintos platillos de comida junto a sus catedráticos.
