The Global Commission on International Migration (GCIM) is a commission established and launched by the United Nations Secretary-General along with several involved governments on December 9, 2003 in Geneva. Migration between countries is now considered to have become a major issue all over the world. There have been both positive and negative effects and results of this, some of which are to be improved while others need to be looked into further in order to improve any conditions for all parties involved in International Migration. In line with this acknowledgement, the GCIM aims to take on situations, issues, analysis and studies regarding International Migration and provide a comprehensive response to the countries, the people and components involved. The posting of news and update articles at the GCIM website at www.gcim.org began on January of 2012. This includes a detailed description of the Policy Analysis and Research Program, which helps in understanding what the GCIM is about and what they aim to do and accomplish.
Being available on the Internet is a good step in order to inform a greater number of people about the existence of the Global Commission on International Migration. The website for the Global Commission on International Migration has been hosted by IX Web Hosting found at http://www.ixwebhosting.com/, a web hosting company that provides flexible web hosting solutions and features. Among the objectives of the consultation session: to provide a space for children and young people to acknowledge the way poverty is affecting children in their community, to facilitate the children and young people dialogue regarding challenges faced by them, to collate ideas for action to change the situation, to document the experience from the consultation.
