SNV's "Accountability Initiative" is a pilot developed in three Departments of Bolivia. In Santa Cruz, for example, SNV worked with the Productive Development Secretariat and SEDAG (Department's Service of Agricultural Development). The implementation of the pilot used tools to collect information on baselines, define impact goals and make sure the data was available and transparent. This data collection permitted to achieve accountability targets and enabled the initiative's beneficiaries to compare the goals which had been set to the results obtained.
This pilot improved the relationship between the Departments' authorities and the beneficiaries and opened more interactive channels of communication which in turn improved the positive impact of public investment. Thanks to the success of this initiative SEDAG and SNV will carry on working together in other projects to support the Department's authorities and will continue to improve the living conditions of small producers.

Mañana, 8 de abril, se cumplen 7 años del asesinato de José Couso. Nunca sabremos a quién debemos agradecerlo pero Wikileaks (una de esas páginas que demuestran que el periodismo en red/colectivo es el futuro) acaba de colgar este video que impedirá que este nuevo aniversario pase desapercibido.
El video demuestra las mentiras (profesionales, automáticas) del ejército yanquee sobre una matanza de iraquíes el 12 de julio de 2007 en Bagdad. Se supone que fue en respuesta a un ataque terrorista, pero en el video se ve perfectamente como no hubo ningún ataque, y cómo los mataron a sangre fría y con risitas. Pequeño problema: se cargaron a un fotógrafo de Reuters, Namir Noor-Eldeen de 22 años, y a su conductor, Saeed Chmagh, de 40. Asesinato colateral.
Horroroso. Da miedo verlo y aún más oirlo: "Oh, yeah, look at those dead bastards-Nice”.
¿Y qué está pasando en Afganistán? Hoy mismo confirman que varios aviones de combate de la OTAN “mataron por error” a cuatro civiles. Los periodistas, las mujeres y los niños muertos son el precio de nuestra ceguera, lo único que nos hace sospechar que el ejército más poderoso del mundo está lleno de chavales asesinos con honores: “Buen tiro. Gracias”. Qué asco. Quiero vomitar. Rabia. La Rabia de Canteca de Macao…
