A campaign to inform public opinion regarding cultural diversity, social cohesion and normality with regard to migration has been launched by the Catalan Government.
A capacity building workshop for young people and youth leaders was held in Geneva, Switzerland 27 -30 January to equip participants with peace building skills and tools to become more active in the GNRC. 144 contestants from 33 countries have been accepted to participate in the 55 Competition Maria Canals that will be held next march. Among the 144 contestants that have been accepted, 87 belong to the piano branch and there is 19 trios.

On January, the Catalan Government of Catalonia signed a framework agreement of understanding between the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation and the United Nations Development Programme, through which both institutions commited to a strengthening of the relationship. This is the first agreement signed by the United Nations institution with a non-state entity.
