The travel expenses of six international young speakers-who represented organizations from Scotland, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, Philippines and Taiwan- were financed almost completely by the IAVE Youth Office in Catalonia by means of the “My volunteer experience” scholarship; the budget investment of the organization amounted to €4,500. 


The Office published 900 magazines of the Conference (in English, Catalan and Spanish) and handed out its new three-page leaflets among the delegates. One of the highlights of the XX IAVE World Volunteer Conference was the formal act which took place on 4th April during the Closing Ceremony: the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and IAVE. The former was represented by Mr. Ignasi Doñate –Director-General of the International Promotion of Catalan Organizations and by Mr. Julià Fernández –Director of the Catalan Youth Agency- and the latter, by its recently appointed World President, Mr. Kang-Hyun Leo, from South Korea. The signing of this document means a mutual compromise and offers a suitable framework for the establishment and development of the IAVE Youth Office in Catalonia.
