Every Year Shanti Ashram brings together 300 rural children from 25 local government & private schools in the Run for Unity programme. The event was conceived to spread the message of Universal Brotherhood & Unity. The first run 4 unity took place on 9th Oct, 2005, patronized by the United Nations and held during the International Year for Sports and Physical Education. Since then this annual event has been world-wide. The theme for this year's program was Discovering the Other. The forenoon session began with a rally from a neighbouring school to Shanti Ashram, followed by sharing of experiences of children. In the afternoon session the participating children were addressed by different Resource Persons on Ethics Education covering Respect, Empathy, Reconciliation and Responsibility.
On October the 24th, Day of the United Nations, UNA-Spain announced the winner's name of the Peace Prize's XXVIII edition, which is conceded by the Association every year to recognise an individual or collective endeavour that stands out due to its defence of peace and human rights.

Mrs. Finike Gogomoka and Mr. Idi Hamad of GNRC Africa in Tanzania, Mr. Said Abdalla of GNRC Kenya and Mr. Yusuf Hajj Nor from Somalia represented the GNRC Africa team that participated in this years Goldin Institute Event that took place in Cartagena Colombia between the 30th September and the 6th of October 2007. Other African participants included Rev Bolmah Freeman of the Inter-Religious Council of Liberia, Ms. Speciose Mukagahima of the Protestant Council of Rwanda and Mr. Celestin Nkundabemera from the Africa Council Religious Leaders regional office in Nairobi.

GNRC Africa conducted an animation training workshop for children, teachers and educators to enhance their knowledge of using child-friendly media to promote ethics education and build peace. The training of trainers was carried out from 1st to 5th July 2007, in Zanzibar on the occasion of the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF).

The third GNRC Africa Peace Camp was held in Zanzibar from 4th to 7th July 2007 on the occasion of the 10th Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF). Over 70 participants, including 60 children and young people participated in the four days Peace Camp, which attracted participants from outside Tanzania for the first time since its inception.
