Mongolian art in Barcelona for the Solidarity Medicine Foundation

The exhibition is organized by the Barcelona Solidarity Medicine Foundation, in collaboration with the House of Asia (Casa Asia), in the context of a project integrating teaching and technologies to combat cardiovascular disease that will be developed in Mongolia in 2006-2007. It features contemporary Mongolian painters.

Environment Award

The Environment Award of the Generalitat de Catalunya was created in September 2005 to give public recognition to the work carried out by individuals, entities or institutions in the promotion of the environment. For its first edition, it will consider research projects or initiatives related to the environment friendly administration of water and the sustainability of edification. The annual award of the Catalan Agency on waste disposal for initiatives in the reduction and recycling of waste disposal will also be given the same day.

The ceremony will take place in Barcelona on 7 June in the context of the celebrations of World Environment Day.

Music: A catalan musician receives 52nd Maria Canals International Contest

An international contest has been organized by a catalan association in Barcelona for the last 52 years. This year 113 participants from 30 different countries, 9 of them from entered the contest. The first prize was awarded to the catalan José Enrique Bagueria. This was the first time in 40 years that a a national of Spain won the award. 

Preparation of the World Social Migrations Forum

The organizations working on migrations will meet on 4 and 5 May in Barcelona to participate in the International Preparatory Committee to the II World Social Migrations Forum to take place from 22 to 24 June 2006 in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, Spain.
