New filters to manage spam!

New filters to manage spam!

The Abcore Cadí platform will enable new technology to improve stability and efficacy in detecting junk mail.

The Internet Services Platform Abcore Cadí will have new filters in its rMail service (e-mail management) which will regulate the spam mail received by users. This new technology will be enabled over the following weeks, filtering junk mail and improving spam detection, resulting in more careful and consistent detection.

User won’t notice this change internally on their administrator, where they manage their webpage, mass mailing, and so on. But they’ll notice an improvement in receiving e-mails that were formally wrongly stored in their inbox, or in their spam folder.

The platform and user security will therefore be improved in this way. We hope the NGOs are able to notice the benefits of it in their e-mail managers.

The iWith.org Foundation has launched an “Open Call for Web Projects in the Technology Field”. The grant aims to design a new web page for an organisation with projects within the technology sector. The goal of the programme is to help organisations in the technology field make the most of the opportunities that the Internet offers, creating the world we want to live in. What does the selection process involve?

  • First phase:  a personalised guidance session will be held by the iWith.org Foundation with each of the selected applications. The needs of each organisation will be analysed in this first encounter and the best applications will be assessed to design the web page.
  • Second phase: recommendations and proposals will be presented.
  • Third phase: the iWith.org Grant Committee will select one of the projects that have been given guidance to design the web through the Open Call.

What will the winning project receive?

The creation of the website includes: web hosting and programming in Abcore Cadí, freedom of design on Responsive templates, training of administrators, web communication tools such as newsletters, events or press release services, as well as support. The selected project will receive support at no cost until 2021.

Instant payments for charitable initiatives

Instant payments for charitable initiatives

The Verse application allows making payments and appeals to donors in the time it takes to send an SMS. Some NGOs and non-profits are already using it.

Make a donation as if you were sending an SMS. That is the ultimate aim of the Verse App, a new application which lets you make quick payments and without any fees. In line with this, Verse has collaborated with charitable initiatives and aims to promote the use of the application in non-profit organisations. For example, all proceeds from the launch party of Verse Events were donated to the CEAR organisation, which protects the rights of refugees and leads social awareness campaigns.

Verse is free to download, and simple to use. The first step is creating an account - register with your mobile number and link the account with your credit card in order to send money to any of your contacts. After that, you can send or request money by simply entering the recipient's mobile number. The accumulated balance on Verse can be transferred directly to their bank account. Additionally, Verse donates €5 for each new user that registers on the application and makes their first donation.

Along with online donations, the app can also be used to create events and split expenses. Organisations like the Turkana Eye ProjectNeed Ü and the Pedriatic Cancer Center project have already used the platform to promote their activities. For more information about what they do, check the Verse blog
