Still, wealthy people are conscious of the idea of compound interest – when your interest makes interest, and so on, and so on … The quicker you start, the more interest you will earn! La Fundació Arrels de Barcelona col·labora en l'edició del llibre Con cartones por la calle. Es tracte d'un recull de les experiències de 10 anys de l'Enrique Richard com a voluntari de l'equip de carrer d'Arrels. La presentació es farà el dimecres 17 d'abril a les 19h al centre obert c/Riereta 24 de Barcelona. Per la diada de Sant Jordi es podrà comprar a la parada de que tindrà Arrels a la Rambla del Raval i a lallibreria Claret al carrer. Roger de Llúria 5, de Barcelona. El preu del llibre és de 8€ i, com diu el propi autor, pràcticament ni arriba a cobrir les despeses, però el que es pretén és contribuir a divulgar el tema.

L'autor del llibre, Enrique Richard, és voluntari d'Arrels des del 2002 i al 2007 va començar un blog, amb el mateix títol del llibre, on s'hi recullen les seves experiències, denúncies i reflexions sobre les persones sense sostre, quan els cartons són la seva única llar. Aquests deu anys d'experiència els ha semblat un bon moment per a plasmar en un llibre aquest, i que va més enllà d'una mera recopilació, sinó que s'ha creat un fil conductor i s'hi han incorporat nous textos.

Segons paraules de l' autor "encontraran una realidad que es dura, que duele y no deja indiferente. pero que pasa inadvertido para una sociedad que no quiere ver, que no le interesa ver, porque es un mundo de sufrimiento y de injusticia. Y hay que taparlo."

Richard també és conscient de que no és un tema que atregui a molta gent i que "no serà un best-seller" "Es posible que se necesite una cierta sensibilidad social para interesarse por este tema pero deseo que su lectura ayude a cambiar la mirada hacia las personas que viven en la calle. Una mirada que acepte, una mirada que acerque y que no juzgue...Y se convierta en una mirada crítica hacia una sociedad que expulsa, hacia unas políticas que olvidan y unos medios de información que en algunas ocasiones los utiliza"

Passat Sant Jordi el llibre es podrà trobar a qualsevol de les dependències d'Arrels (Centre Obert (C/Riereta, 24); Taller Ocupacional la Troballa; Llar Pere Barnés (C/Puig i Xoriguer, 14), i també a la llibreria Claret.
